Japanese crape myrtle

The Japanese crape myrtle has an upright arching habit, generally found as multi-stemmed specimen. Slightly more cold hardy than Lagerstroemia indica but also thrives in hot dry summer climates. It has excellent red brown fluted bark texture. The foliage is a simple leaf with yellow fall color, flowers are small and white from June through fall. Prefer moist well-drained soil conditions in full sun.
