Medium-sized, upright and slim shrub. New spring foliage is brilliant glossy red changing to bronze then to a deep glossy green in summer. Creamy site pitcher shaped blooms on reddish stems. Prefers acidic, humus-rich, moist-well but drained soil. Light shade to full sun.
