Summer Squash are a warm-season vegetable grown throughout the US during the warm, frost-free Months. Considered to be a summer squash rather than fall or winter squash when it is selected for harvested before the rind hardens and the fruit matures. Summer squash have a bush type growth habit rather than spreading like winter and fall squash. A couple healthy plants is all the average garden needs.
