Above Ground Gardening

Richard Ramirez asks:

Question

What type of material do you use for above ground gardening?

Answer

If you are referring to the material used to create the raised bed almost anything can be used. Old wine barrels, standard lumber, really anything that will hold soil and has adequate drainage. I have seen great raised beds made from livestock troughs with hole cut out of the bottom for drainage. There are many companies out there that have manufactured boxed for above gardening, if you are in Northern California by chance look for Knox Garden Box.
