What kind of trees or bushes are best to reduce road noise?
Answer
The best types of trees and shrubs that block road noise are large, dense and evergreen. In climates where broad leaf evergreens thrive Photinia x fraseri and Pittosporum tenuifolium work well. In colder climates pine trees like Pinus densiflora (faster growing than any pines) will provide the sound break you are looking for. There maybe many other species that will work in your area of the country, keep in mind large, dense and evergreen.
