Ranunculus Bulbs

dgtucker1417@ asks:

Question

I have 10 Ranuculus bulbs, can I plant them now or wait till Spring? Also what about fertilizing them?

Answer

Ranuculus bulbs can be planted in either spring or autumn, however when they are planted in autumn they have longer to adapt and often provide taller healthier plants. Be sure to plant the bulbs in a well-drained sunny location. If you live in an overly wet climate zone choose you planting location accordingly.

I recommend fertilizing your Ranunculus once a month with a granular bulb specific fertilizer that can be work into the soil surface and watered in. It is only necessary to fertilize and water regularly during the active growing season.
