When to plant a rose bush

Tonya asks:

Question

Is it to early to plant a rose bush?

Answer

It depends on your location and the whether you are planting bare-root or container grown plants. Bare-root plants should be planted before the regions last frost. In frost free climates bare-root should be planted in the fall or winter, preferably. Container grown plants which are the form most commonly found in garden centers can be planted anytime during the frost-free season.
