This beautiful evergreen shrub has burgundy leaves and bright fuschia-pink flowers and is great as a border or specimen. It prefers moist, well-drained, humus rich soil conditions that are slightly acidic however this shrub is adaptable to most soils. The flowers bloom year round but put on the best show late winter into spring. Best in partial shade in hotter climates. Little pruning is needed unless you wish to control the size. There are many varieties on the market such as 'Razzleberri' and 'Ever Red', there are also green leaf varieties.
