French lavender is a compact busy shrub with gray-green oblong leaves, fragrant deep purple flowers with small purple bracts are borne on short stalk and bloom from late spring through summer. Grow in well drained, moderately fertile soil in a sunny location. Flower stems should be removed after bloom to promote healthy growth and abundant flowers the following year.
