Irish Moss is a low growing, mat-forming groundcover around one inch tall. Prefers partial-shade in moist soil moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Excellent for small planting areas and between pavers or stepping stones. The foliage is green (darker than Scotch moss) with an interesting fine texture. The entire plant is covered in tiny, star-shaped white flowers in spring. Occasional time release fertilizer will encourage good plant health and growth.
