Hardy native is widely recommended for street or lawn plantings as a replacement for American Elm. Native to moist sites, it is extremely adaptable and tolerates alkalinity, salt, drought, wind, and poor soils. Seeds are an excellent food source for wildlife. Rarely or never fed on by Japanese Beetles.
