Picturesque tree has deeply furrowed bark and stout branches that are particularly handsome in winter. It prefers deep, moist soil and full sun, but is adaptable to many conditions such as alkaline soil and drought. Mahogany seed pods are long and leathery. Best in full sun with moist, well drained soil; tolerates drought.
