Catananche caerulea is a short lived perennial native to the Mediterranean. Plant if full-sun, does well in any type of soil that is well drained. Liner and lance shaped grass like form clumps, from mid-summer to fall the plant bears solitary dark centered flowers. 'Alba', 'Bicolor', 'Major', and 'Perry's White' are common varieties.
