Ledebouria cooperi is a small bulb native to the wet grasslands of Eastern South Africa. It has glossy green leaves with distinct longitudinal purple stripes, the small racemes of bright pink flowers are produced in abundance. In the northern hemisphere L. cooperi blooms spring through summer. During the winter months the bulbs should be kept on the dryer side when it is dormant. These bulbs are pretty tough and will withstand considerable winters and do well with both exposed and unexposed bulbs.
