Paeonia are a genus of around 30 herbaceous perennials species and eight deciduous shrubs species. Peonies have four distinct flower form forms single, semi-double, double and Japanese. Best if planted in deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that will not dry out between waterings in the summer. Adding manure or garden compost before planting to enrich the soil will help the plant establish. Peonies can tolerate light shade, but will do much better in full sun. Deciduous shrubs or Tree peonies may grow to a height of 5 feet or more and are hardy in zones 4a-8b. For more visit: http://www.peonysenvy.com/
