Thuja occidentalis is a fast growing conical shaped evergreen tree reaching heights of 50 feet over many years, more often 20-30 feet tall. Commonly used as a screen, wind break or pruned as a hedge. Dark green scale-like leaves, small woody cone. Grows well in full sun or light shade however in heavy shade the form may become open and loose looking. Prefers moist well-drained loamy-soil however most Thuja are quite adaptable to most soils and locations.
