Chenille Potted Plant
Question
How do I care for a chenille potted plant?
Answer
Chenille Plant or Acalypha hispidia is native to the warm, humid, tropical climates of New Guinea for best results these climate characteristics should be replicated (consistently above 70 degrees Fahrenheit). Excessive dryness and cold temperatures can lead to leaf-scorch, wilting and eventually leaf drop. The plant should be placed in bright light but avoiding direct sunlight ample moisture and a rich, humusy soil are required. Fertilizer is required every 14 days with a good liquid houseplant fertilizer at the recommended rate.
Chenille plants should be regularly deadheaded removing the spent flowers as they die to encourage new.
