Damage to Clematis Vine
Debbie asks:
Question
My neighbour has severly damaged my 17 year old Clematis Armandii, my olny option is to cut it right back, will it survive
Answer
Yes, the clematis should survive being cut back. I would go ahead and remove all the dead or damaged parts of the plant or cut it all the way back if necessary. To help the clematis recover be sure to keep the roots cool by adding mulch and keep the soil moist to avoid additional stress.
