Fruit trees with a few barren branches
Ernest Marcurio asks:
Question
I noticed on some of my fruit trees that although they are covered in lush green leaves, there are a few branches that are absolutely barren. The leaves are gone and the twigs off shooting from the main branches are brittle. Is this serious? Thank you.
Answer
I would not be concerned, sounds as though the majority of the tree is in good condition however, it would be a good idea to remove the dead with a pair of pruners or a hand saw. Often trees and shrubs have limbs die for no apparent reason so long as the rest of the trees is healthy there is nothing to worry about.
