Overwintering Plants In Pots
Junipers asks:
Question
I live in Maine and am moving this winter. I potted a few perennials, ornamental grasses, and arborvitae to move. What is the best way to store until spring? An unheated shed (they would freeze in the ground anyway), a cool garage, or outside in the cold and snow? Thank you.
Answer
All of the three options would work just fine. If you decide to keep the plants in the garage or shed you will still need to water the plants periodically to avoid desiccation. If the garage is well above freezing it could encourage the plants to grow, in which case avoid storing the plants in there.
