Transplanting Shrubs & Trees
radams2@ asks:
Question
When is the right time move a Nandina Shrub & a Rose of Sharon Tree?
Answer
Fall is a great time to relocate trees and shrubs. The cooler temperature and coming rain/moisture will reduce stress and the possibility of die back. Transplanting in the fall will also give the tree or shrub time to develop new healthy roots giving the plant a head start in the spring.
When relocating plants in the garden be sure to take the largest rootball possible, avoid planting too low and water often.
