The bean is a tender, warm season vegetable and are sensitive to cold temperatures and frost. They should be planted after the last frost of the spring. By planting every couple of weeks up to August you will be able to harvest beans throughout the season. Plant seeds 1 inch deep and supply a structure to climb like a bean pole. Excessively moist soil will kill seed before they have a chance to germinate.
