Little Mini Ball Beets have a root about the size of a silver dollar at maturity, the short tops of the beets are great for making greens. Beets are fairly frost hardy and can be planted in the garden up to a month before the last frost, however beets grow better during warm weather. Establish the seedlings under cool, moist conditions. Plant beet seedlings in the garden at 20 day intervals until midsummer, this will allow you to harvest for several months during the season. Make sure the soil is moist throughout. Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep and one inch apart. Allow 12 to 18 inches between rows. The Little Mini Ball Beets can be harvested 54 days after planting in the garden. Another similar cultivar Little Ball can be harvested after 50 days, the root is small and very uniform, very tender and grows quickly.
